Frank Vitale was a founding member of the North Fork Preservation Association in the early 1980s. Frank has been a board member of the Flathead Chapter of Montana Hunters and Anglers and has represented them in the Whitefish Range Parternship which works collaboratively for Wilderness protection in the Whitefish Range.

Frank has had many occupations over the years, notable among them being a farrier and the owner of a sawmill operation in North Fork country.

He has been a leader in packing training for the Bob Marshall Foundation and has served on the board of that foundation.
