Montana Conservation Elders has been actively involved from the beginning in the book “A Wild Land Ethic, The Story of Wilderness in Montana.”
The publisher is Stoneydale Press and Dale Burk, the owner of Stoneydale Press, is an editor, along with Wayne Chamberlin.
The book is an anthology of forty-two authors who write of their passion for wild places in Montana. The book includes a dedication—to Ken and Florence Baldwin, founders of the Montana Wilderness Association; a Foreword by Dale Burk; forty-six chapter in five sections (Context, Perspective and Reminisces, Places of Special Legacy, Voices for the Wild and The Task Before Us); an appendix that includes the designated Wilderness Areas of Montana; the text of The Wilderness Act, a piece of true literature by Howard Zahniser, in an era of succinctly written legislation; and a listing of relevant conservation organizations for the readers to investigate and contact.
